International Bromont

  1. International Bromont is a recognized show of Equine Canada and is governed by the rules of the Federation. All participants must be individual competitor members of the Federation.
     
  2. The organizing committee of the International Bromont reserves the right to alter the conditions, refuse entries or combine classes.
     
  3. Closing dates:

  5. Payment of entries: for an entry to be accepted, a cheque signed by the owner or his authorized agent / trainer COVERING THE NOMINATION AND STALL FEES must accompany the entry form. All accounts should be close after each week.
     
  6. Administration: an amount of $39 is added on each entry form. This amount includes $33 for administrative fees and $6 for drug tests (amount to be remitted to the Quebec Equestrian Federation).
     
  7. Late entries or substitutions: after the closing date and up to two days prior to the start of the competition, late entries will be accepted under the following conditions:
    • Approval by the Horse Show Committee.
    • Availability of stalls.
    • Number of entries.
    • Payment of an additional $20 administrative fee.
         
  8. Show Office hours: the Show Office will be open 1 hour before the beginning of classes each day of the competition until 1 hour after the end of the last class. It will also be open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the day prior to the competition.
     
  9. Nominations / Declarations: nominations will allow jumpers to move from one division to another, each day of the competition. All jumpers showing must pay a nomination fee of $150 before closing date of the entries. Horses nominated after that date must pay a nomination fee of $175. This fee is non-refundable and is not applicable to horses entered in the Schooling, Green, Child-Adult and Young Horse divisions.
     
    Riders are reminded that they must declare each day for the next day's classes. Riders may scratch from the classes they do not wish to enter the day prior to the class. A scratch sheet must be filled at the Show Office or they will be charged for the classes entered on the entry forms.
     
  10. Scratches: cancellation of a complete entry will be handled as follows:
    • Up to the closing date : full refund
    • Between the closing date and the first day of the show : full refund less $50 per horse
    • During the show : no refund
    • No refund for stabling after July 1ST, 2008
       
    Note: the Horse Show Committee will accept Veterinarian certificates to claim a refund upon evaluation and approval.
     
  11. Changes during the show: choice of classes must appear on the entry form. All changes to hunter classes must be made before the closing of the Show Office the day prior to the class in question. All changes will be subject to an additional $20 administrative fee.
     
    NO REFUND FOR SCRATCHES OF SAME DAY CLASSES.
     
    No changes will be accepted if they require that a class of division be split. Late entries will be required to be first in the ring in the class involved.
     
  12. Stabling: limited stabling facilities will be available at a cost of $180 / stall if reserved before the stall reservation closing date of July 1st, 2008. Payment must accompany the entry forms and is non-refundable after July 1st, 2008.
     
    STALLS WILL BE ALLOCATED ON A FIRST REGISTERED AND PAID BASIS.
     
    Special requests for preferred locations will be considered if specified with stabling reservations, but these cannot be guaranteed. Bedding is not included in the price of the stalls. Feed and bedding will be available at market prices. A limited number of permanent stalls is available, but not guaranteed, at a cost of $260 per stall. RESERVATIONS WILL ONLY BE CONFIRMED UPON RECEIPT OF FULL PAYMENT.
     
  13. Non-showing: All non-showing horses must be registered and a $50 fee per horse will be charged.
     
  14. Hunters: To enter one class in any hunter division, competitors must pay the entry fee for the entire division.
     
  15. Jumpers: for all classes, riders must respect the starting order.
     
  16. Delay of more than 3 minutes may, at the Steward's discretion, cause the disqualification of the participant.
     
  17. Practice areas: training will be allowed only in specific areas and according to the schedule available at the Show Office. The Steward will be present. Horses may not leave the show ground without the Steward's approval. Delinquents will be disqualified.
    Note: FEI safety cups are required in practice area.
     
  18. Farrier: a farrier is available every day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
     
  19. Accounts: accounts may be opened for the duration of the show buy depositing a signed blank cheque at the Show Office. All open account charges remaining at the end of the show will be automatically applied to the open cheque.
     
  20. NSF payments: a $50 charge will be added for any returned cheque, regardless of the reason.
     
  21. Prize money: all prize money won will be credited to the account in the Show Office.
     
  22. Any horse wearing the incorrect number may not be scored.
     
  23. Any horse showing in a class in which it is not entered at the Show Office will be fined double the entry fee for that class or division.
     
  24. Horse passports and negative Coggins certificates are mandatory.
     
  25. Program changes: The Horse Show Committee reserves the right to change the order of classes or to cancel or combine any division where there are less than eight entries.
     
  26. Riders drug testing warning: riders may be tested for the use of banned or restricted substances and it is their responsibility to familiarize themselves with the EC rules* to human athlete antidoping control.

    Riders entering classes, which may be selected for Human antidoping testing, will be required to sign the Human antidoping consent form prior to participating in the class. Please be advised that the riders may be tested for banned or restricted substances in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the Antidoping Control Program of the EC, in accordance with the policies and procedures of Sport Canada and the Sport Medicine Council of Canada. (SWCC) Positive tests will result in prizes being forfeited of all of the horse entries, of the owners, trainers, competitors and grooms.

  27. The Horse Show committee reserves the right to refuse any rider or entry if they do not conform to the rules and regulations of the Horse show, as well as the Code of Ethics legislated by Equine Canada.
     
    EXHIBITORS' NOTES
     
  28. Arrivals: Horses may begin to arrive as of 8:00 AM Sunday July 13th, 2008.
     
    Arrival will not be allowed after 7:30 AM every day of competitions. Those who wish to arrive prior to these dates or at different times MUST MAKE PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE ORGANIZERS OF THE SHOW.
     
  29. Memberships: all participants must be members in good standing of Equine Canada and carry their membership card. All Quebec participants must be active members of the Quebec Equestrian Federation and carry their membership card.
     
  30. Car parking: a parking plan for participants has been established and we ask for your co-operation and understanding in respecting the designated parking areas. Parking passes will be required to enter these areas. These passes will be available at the Show Office.
     
    NO PARKING WILL BE TOLERATED IN THE STABLING AREAS.
     
  31. Horse vans: special drop-off and parking areas have been reserved for horse vans. We request that, once you have unloaded, you do not leave your vans and trailers in the stabling areas.
     
  32. Motorcycles and all terrain vehicles: due to strict insurance requirements, no minors will be allowed to drive such vehicles on the grounds. The use of motorcycles or other such vehicles by adults will be tolerated, if these are used with caution. Should there be abuse, the Horse Show Committee reserves the right to prohibit their use on the grounds.
     
  33. Reserved seating: we ask you to please respect the reserved seating areas. These have been paid for by our sponsors and supporters. These seats are available for purchase on demand.
